Core Functionality and Application
The Havells 50 kW On-Grid Solar Inverter, a premium model in the Enviro GTi series, is a three-phase, grid-tie inverter designed to handle the substantial power requirements of large commercial and industrial setups, such as big factories, warehouses, large institutions, and utility-scale solar farms. Its primary function is the efficient conversion of high-voltage DC power from the solar arrays into high-quality three-phase AC power that is seamlessly fed into the main utility grid, facilitating significant energy cost savings through net-metering.
Performance and Energy Optimization
This inverter achieves top-tier performance with a maximum conversion efficiency reaching up to 98.6%. A critical feature is its Three MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) inputs, which allow the connection of multiple solar panel arrays with different orientations or shade conditions, ensuring each array operates at its peak power point independently. This results in maximized energy harvest across the entire system. Furthermore, the inverter is designed to handle up to 1.5 times DC overloading per MPPT, providing design flexibility and future-proofing the system.
Safety, Monitoring, and Design
The Havells 50 kW inverter is housed in an IP65-rated metal enclosure, providing robust protection against dust and water jets, confirming its suitability for harsh outdoor conditions. It incorporates essential safety mechanisms, including a built-in DC switch for safe isolation of the solar DC input, and Type II Surge Protection Devices (SPD) on both the AC and DC sides for protection against lightning and transient overvoltages.
For monitoring, the inverter features a 4-inch LCD display for local data checks. Crucially, it includes a Wi-Fi or GPRS data logger, providing users with lifetime free remote monitoring via a web portal and mobile application. This enables real-time performance tracking, fault alerts, and historical data analysis. It also supports optional features like Anti-Reverse Power Control (ARPC) for zero-export functionality, which may be required by local grid regulations. The product comes with a standard 10-year warranty.
