Core Functionality and Application
The Havells 100 kW On-Grid Solar Inverter is a top-tier model specifically engineered for large-scale power generation. It serves as the bridge between the solar array and the utility grid, converting the DC power from the modules into high-quality, three-phase AC power. Due to its significant capacity, it is optimally suited for use in large-scale solar farms, major manufacturing facilities, and extensive commercial rooftops where a high volume of power generation is required for captive consumption or feeding into the grid under power purchase agreements.
Performance and Yield Optimization
Efficiency is a cornerstone of its design, with the inverter achieving a maximum efficiency of up to 98.7%. To ensure consistent and maximized energy yield across vast installations, the 100 kW model features an industry-leading number of Ten independent MPPTs. This allows for the precise tracking of the maximum power point for ten separate solar array sections, effectively mitigating power losses from factors like varied panel orientation, shading from nearby structures, or module mismatch. The inverter’s system design is flexible, supporting a high maximum DC input voltage of 1100 V and allowing for 1.5 times DC oversizing (DC overloading) per MPPT to ensure maximum use of the inverter’s capacity.
Safety, Protection, and Reliability
The inverter is built for reliability in challenging environments, enclosed in a robust IP65-rated casing for superior protection against dust and water ingress. Safety mechanisms are fully integrated and include a built-in DC switch for safe solar array isolation. Crucially, it features inbuilt Type II Surge Protection Devices (SPD) for both the AC output and DC input sides, safeguarding the system against electrical surges. It is certified according to major international and Indian standards (like IEC and BIS).
Monitoring and Connectivity
For detailed analysis and proactive maintenance, the 100 kW model offers sophisticated String Level Monitoring, allowing precise identification of underperforming strings. Data is made accessible via a Wi-Fi / GPRS data logger (USB Type), enabling lifetime free remote monitoring through a web portal and mobile application. This robust communication suite, which also includes an RS485 port, provides real-time performance data, fault diagnostics, and the ability for online software upgrades. It also supports the Anti-Reverse Power Control (ARPC) feature as an optional component for zero-export compliance.
